A closer look at the science
behind better healthcare.

THE IDEAS BEHIND THE INSTRUMENTS

Physics, brought closer.

PSI Center is an independent science publication exploring how matter, energy, waves, and fields shape healthcare.

From first principles to the clinic

Inside a scanner, an operating room, or a research laboratory, familiar questions turn into remarkable technology. How does a magnetic field become an image? Why can a sound wave reveal blood flow? What makes a plasma useful for sterilization, and what remains uncertain about treating living tissue?

Our reading library follows those questions through eight connected fields. Articles explain mechanisms, applications, and the limits of the evidence, with direct links to public agencies, scientific institutions, and research papers.

A publication for curious readers

You do not need a physics degree to begin. Start with the fundamentals, follow a subject you know, or search for a particular technique. Each explainer is written to stand on its own and offers further reading for a deeper look.

We distinguish established clinical technologies from experimental ideas. A plausible physical mechanism is one part of the story; demonstrated benefit in patients is another. Our editorial approach explains how we handle that difference.

The history of this address

This domain previously hosted material associated with the University of Washington's Plasma Science and Innovation Center and the 2010 Sherwood Fusion Theory Conference. It later carried unrelated content. Today's Physics for Health publication is independently operated and is not affiliated with the former research center, its staff, or a university.

We maintain a separate collection of historical addresses, including original research references and later article records. Each record explains what can be established about that address and identifies newly prepared context.
